MSI: new PCI-E 5.0 power supply with 12+4pin connectors

About four months after Intel's introduction of PCI-E 5.0 on the Alder Lake-S platform, peripherals that take advantage of the new high-performance interface are scarce, and it looks like we will only start to see some SSD news (at least from Phison and Samsung) in the coming months. While waiting for next-gen AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards (likely to feature the new interface), the next to jump on the PCI-E 5.0 bandwagon are power supply manufacturers, who have been unveiling several new 16pin PCI-E 5.0 power connectors lately.

After ASUS and its powerful 1200W ROG LOKI power supply, competitor MSI seems to be equally at the forefront of the adoption of this standard and indirectly unveils its new range of MEG and MPG power supplies that we should see on the market soon. The details come from our colleagues at wccftech who, as often happens, have managed to get their hands on some previously unseen images of the new MSI range, confirming native PCI-E gen 5.0 support.

The models in question, which should be pre-production samples, are five in total, two for the MEG series and three for the more "economical" MSI MPG.
