Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU is about 15% higher than RTX 4080 in Vulkan

AMD will launch its new generation of RDNA 3-based graphics cards next week, on the 13th. The top-of-the-line GPU, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, will arrive to compete with the GeForce RTX 4080, according to AMD, and already appears ahead of its rival by around 15% in the Vulkan API test on Geekbench.

AMD's next top-of-the-line GPU managed to score 179,579 in Vulkan, against the almost 155,000 points achieved by the RTX 4080. In contrast, AMD's disadvantage is proportional when we talk about the test done in OpenCL, with the RTX 7900 XTX being close to 14% below NVIDIA's GPU.

One of the highlights of the company led by Lisa Su in this dispute is the price. The RX 7900 XTX, stronger RDNA 3 GPU, arrives for $ 999, while its rival RTX 4080 costs $ 1,199 (in theory, price suggested by NVIDIA).

In addition, AMD's GPU has more video memory (24GB versus 16GB), higher memory interface (384-bit versus 256-bit), but the RTX 4080's memories are faster because they use GDDR6X technology, the fastest currently. To close, the Radeon RX 7900 GPUs will have DisplayPort 2.1 support, which allows high resolutions coupled with high frame rates.
