Ryzen 7 5700X is only 2% slower than the 5800X on GeekBench

Announced by AMD a fortnight ago along with other Ryzen processor models, Ryzen 7 5700X appears, this Tuesday (29), for the first time in tests on Geekbench 5, revealed by the profile @Benchleaks, on Twitter. The results of the benchmark point to a performance of about only 2% worse than the 5800X, the most demanding model in terms of power consumption.

By comparison, the Ryzen 7 5700X features 8 cores 16 Threads with a base frequency of 3.4 GHz and a suggested price of $299. The Ryzen 7 5800X on the other hand also comes with eight cores and 16 threads, but operates at a higher base frequency of 3.8 GHz. In terms of TDP, the 5800X has 105W, while the 5700X has 65W.

In the Geekbench 5 results, the 5700X presented a score of 1645 in the single-thread tests and 10196 in the multi-thread benchmark execution, while the 5800X reaches 1671 points for the single-thread result and 10338 points for the multi-thread score. The performance of both is therefore quite similar, as the difference is almost equal to the margin of error.

It is important to point out that benchmark tests are not always exact indicators for the performance of parts in reality, since they use workloads sometimes different from the real ones. They serve to give you a sense of what to expect.
