NVIDIA stops production of custom GeForce RTX 3090 Ti?

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti continues to be the talk of the town. NVIDIA's new flagship - quickly announced at CES in Las Vegas - should be on its way by now, but there's no reassuring news from the net for those "few" who will have the chance to buy it. While we're talking about information that hasn't yet been officially confirmed by the manufacturer, let's start with the most delicate piece of news, which concerns the possibility that NVIDIA has advised its partners to pause production of custom GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, all at the moment without any particular timing or explanation.

The rumor comes from the folks at tweaktown who, even without revealing the source, have probably received this information from some NVIDIA partner. As mentioned above, no company in the case (see ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.) has made any statements about this, but according to rumours circulating on the network, it would be problems related to the BIOS and the hardware itself.

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is a powerhouse that will be just as extreme in terms of power consumption and price. Let's start with the technical specs of MSI's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM, which could be one of the most air-cooled models available.

The specs of the card are circulating rather quickly these hours, confirming a disturbing TDP to say the least: 480 watts. The screenshot above, which looks genuine - but still not official - also tells us that the GPU will have 10,752 CUDA Cores and a frequency of up to 1.9 GHz, all coupled with 24GB GDDR6X 21Gbps and a triple 8pin PCI-E connector.
